As there were several locations involved plus there were multiple operations happening we met on site to discuss and plan the best way to execute this project.
During the recce we established that one of the best viewpoints was from the roof of an adjacent block of flats. We approached the developer and secured permission to place a time lapse camera on the roof for the entire installation.
We also installed several other time lapse cameras in key positions, prior to the weekend so we could capture all the work including the arrival and positioning and the extremely large cranes.
Most of the work was happen during the night which makes it is even more difficult. During the installations we shot both video and photography from the ground and from the air using drones. We also utilised several mobile time lapse cameras to capture key events in more detail. This helped us adapt to the ever changing schedule as we could move cameras quickly to capture key procedures. This was a mammoth task and required a great deal of planning and organisation.
The key is to understand what is happening, how it is happening and when i is happening. We can then plan the best way to capture those events.
